Who We Are?

These days Risk Assessment and Safety Management have become critically important for every organisation.

Beyond community expectations of responsibility and duty of care, other factors such as spiraling insurance costs, increasingly litigious attitudes, and proliferating government regulatory measures mean that today’s corporations and organisations simply cannot afford not to comprehensively address every possible facet of Risk & Safety Management.

But perhaps more so than with most professional services, Risk & Safety advice must be of the highest standard – anything less can cost not only money, but lives too. That’s why you need Risk & Safety advice from someone with a proven track record.

The Risk & Safety Consultancy Group is a privately-owned consultancy providing comprehensive Risk & Safety expertise across the general spectrum of heavy industry and other commercial activities. The Risk & Safety Consultancy Group offers personal hands-on service by Kevin Band – one of Australia’s most highly-respected Risk & Safety experts, especially at a strategic level. His proven expertise is backed-up by specialist professional associates providing complementary skills where necessary.

Kevin Band

RSCG Managing Director

Kevin Band has extensive international expertise in the operation and management of corporate structures, with particular emphasis on safety, risk management and the regulatory framework. He has spent more than three decades working at senior manager level in England and Australia. His knowledge and expertise draws on twenty-five years from1970 to 1995 with British Rail, ultimately as Head of Safety Policy at the British Railways Board – responsible for the operational safety of 15,000 daily trains carrying 750,000,000 passengers per year, and for providing a safe working environment for 136,000 employees.

In 1995 the Queensland Government appointed Kevin Band to develop a contemporary safety accreditation framework – and in 1996 he joined Queensland Rail to develop and implement a safety management system that led to substantial reductions in injuries and deaths, improved operational efficiency, significant cost reductions – and which is now independently acknowledged as being in the top 2% of such systems world-wide.
