- Will your workplace be safer in five years from now and how do you know ?
- Did you participate in the development of Safety/Risk Policy?
- Have you set challenging safety objectives?
- Are there stringent performance monitoring regimes underpinning objectives?
- Does the organisational structure reflect the importance of safety?
- Are safety accountabilities set at all levels?
- Are you satisfied the executive team are managing safety?
- Is safety (and injury management) incorporated in performance agreements and reviews?
- Is safety considered during policy development and strategic planning?
- Do you understand the financial arrangements for workers compensation?
- Are safety costs and compensation delegated to cost centres to reinforce accountability?
- Is there a clearly defined safety plan and compliance monitoring processes?
- Do you regularly communicate the importance of safety at all levels?
- Are you promptly advised of safety incidents?
- Are there mechanisms in place to benchmark performance and share information?
- Are there effective mechanisms in place to consult with all affected stakeholders?
